Common terms you will meet when buying or selling used machinery.
- Undercarriage
- The tracks, rollers, sprockets and frames that support crawler equipment. Wear here is the largest cost driver on excavators and dozers.
- Hour Meter
- A gauge recording engine run-time. Lower hours generally mean less wear, but verify against service history.
- ROPS / FOPS
- Roll-over and falling-object protective structures required for operator cabs in most markets.
- CE Marking
- Conformity certification required to import and operate machinery within the European Economic Area.
- Basic / Advanced
- Pay-per-listing packages: Basic ($25) includes 1 listing credit; Advanced ($100) includes 5. Each live listing runs 90 days after approval.
- Premium Listing
- A paid merchant membership with unlimited listings for 365 days, plus 1 Featured placement.
- Featured
- A promoted placement that surfaces a listing at the top of category and search results. Shown only while Premium is active.
